Answer:
To adjust grade weights, go to Course Details → Grading Schema.
If you are not using grade groups, click the Edit (✎) icon next to the grade item to open its settings.
The Grade Weight (%) represents the item’s total contribution to the overall course grade.
For example, if an assignment has a weight of 20%, it contributes 20% toward the student’s final grade in the course.
If you are using grade groups, you can adjust weights in two places:
- Click the Edit (✎) icon next to the Grade Group name to change how much that group contributes to the overall course grade (for example, “Tests” = 25%).
- Then, within that group, click the Edit (✎) icon next to each Grade Item to set how much it’s worth inside the group.
The Grade Weight (%) divides the group’s percentage among its items, and the Grade Weight Absolute shows how much that item is worth toward the overall course grade.
For instance, if a group is worth 25% and “Test 1” has a weight of 65%, its absolute weight is 16.25% of the total course grade.
